We want you to feel confident shopping with Amara. Because fragrance is a personal, blind-buy experience, our returns policy is designed to balance flexibility, fair pricing, and clarity.
Australian Consumer Law (Your Rights)
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the issue. In these cases, we'll always make it right.
If there's a problem with your order, please contact our support team and we'll assist you promptly.
30-Day Returns Window
All return requests must be submitted within 30 days of delivery.
Returns are managed through our online returns portal to ensure fast and consistent handling.
Return Assurance (Optional)
For customers who want extra flexibility, we offer Return Assurance at checkout.
Return Assurance is optional and provides peace of mind on blind buys — without increasing product prices for everyone.
With Return Assurance, you can:
- Return opened or lightly used fragrances within 30 days
- Choose between store credit or exchange
- Access a simple, self-serve returns process
- Receive faster return handling
- Be eligible for return shipping coverage (where applicable)
This allows you to try your fragrance at home, risk-free.
Returns Without Return Assurance
If Return Assurance is not selected at checkout, we're still here to help.
Without Return Assurance:
- Australian Consumer Law protections always apply
- Unopened and unused items may be eligible for return within 30 days
- Opened or used fragrances are not eligible for change-of-mind returns, as they cannot be resold
This approach allows us to keep pricing fair while offering flexibility to those who want it.
Final Sale Items
The following items are considered final sale and are not eligible for change-of-mind returns:
- Discounted or promotional items
- Clearance items
- Bundles or multi-buy offers (partial returns may void bundle pricing)
Final sale items may still be returned if they are faulty or incorrect, in line with Australian Consumer Law.
Bundles & Free Gifts
- If a bundle or multi-buy order is partially returned, any refund or store credit will be recalculated to remove the bundle discount.
- Any free gift included with an order must be returned with the item. If not returned, the retail value of the gift may be deducted from the refund or credit.
How to Start a Return
To request a return, please visit our Returns Portal and follow the steps provided.
You'll be asked to:
- Select a return reason
- Confirm the condition of the item
- Upload photos if required (for opened or faulty items)
Inspection & Eligibility
All returns are inspected upon arrival.
To be eligible for a refund, store credit, or exchange, items must be returned:
- Unmarked — free of writing, pen marks, stickers, or added labels on the bottle, cap, or original label
- Unaltered from their original condition
- With original packaging, including any boxes, tags, or inserts (where applicable)
If your return does not pass inspection
If an item arrives marked, altered, or without its original packaging, your refund will be denied. You may then choose one of the following outcomes:
- Store credit to the value of the returned items, or
- Have the items shipped back to you (you are responsible for return shipping costs)
A Note on Fragrance Returns
Fragrance is deeply personal, and scent preference can vary from person to person. Because opened fragrances cannot be resold, our Return Assurance option exists to offer flexibility — without building return costs into every bottle.
